The little ones wanted to ride the ferris wheel and I didn't trust the big kids to not toss their little siblings overboard, so I asked for volunteers to ride along. Anyone? Anyone? Any adult here wanna go on the ferris wheel? No? No one? Crud! That leaves me!
Once up in the air, I started to realize that it was not as much fun as I remember. All I could think of was how rickedy the whole thing looked and I'm pretty sure I heard some loose parts in there!
I was sharing the story with my Dad (Mike) and we were trying to decide the last time I rode a ferris wheel.
"Hmmm...Dad, I think it was last time Grandma and Grandpa took us girls to an amusement park."
"Bahahahaha! Sunie, you realize that was 20 years ago!"
"WHAT!?!? Did you just say 20 years? I gotta go, I feel sick"
I'm pretty sure this is the first memory I have of saying something was "20 years ago" and feeling a little icky. It just snuck up on me and kicked me in the gut. How did this happen? It seemed like only yesterday. Where did the time go?
So, I'm thinking, I'm not the only one that this happens to. What were YOU doing 20 years ago? Sending a child off to college? Graduating high school? Having a baby? Let me know!
Me? I was blissfully riding ferris wheels and for those of you trying to do the math- yes, I was only 3 years old!heehee
Here's to the next 20-Love ya
